Joel Bruyere is an independent mix
engineer, producer and musician from Southwestern Ontario. Since 1999
Joel continues to be the bassist for the band Thousand Foot Krutch. He has traveled around the world with TFK, playing thousands
of shows in countries such as the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and the majority of Europe. Together they have recorded and released 6 full length LP's.
For almost a decade, Joel has demonstrated his passion for
music, technology and composition via his work as a soloist and also with numerous bands and
artists as a mix engineer and producer.
In 2011 and 2012, as a testament to Joel’s skill and approach, he was
accepted into the MIX with the MASTERS program at La Fabrique in
Saint-Rémy de Provence, France. The program matches a handful of
skilled, specifically selected and motivated engineers with renowned A-list producers and mix engineers. Joel’s programs featured both Tom Elmhirst and
Peter Katis, who utilized collaborative and hands-on session styles to
improve, refine and edge the participant’s skills and approach.
With over 15 years of experience in the music industry, Joel
has developed recording and mixing techniques that are truly unique and draw from the desire to create music that generates emotion. Using his well-trained ears and
musical creativity, the approach is a “pen to
paper” mentality in a shared, respectful and professional environment.
